LEGACY 1951 
The Institutional Church of God in Christ of Brooklyn, NY was established on February 1, 1951, by the late Chief Apostle Carl E. Williams, Sr. The vision of the late Chief Apostle was to “Tell One, Bring One, and Win One for Jesus”. With over fifty years of partnership with Fort Greene, Brooklyn, and New York City the Ministry has participated in bringing services to the community as a whole. With the evidence of the Holy Spirit and the prominent music ministry of the Institutional Radio Choir, twenty-nine albums were recorded and performed. Bishop Carl E. Williams, Jr. boldly followed the vision of the House as he became the senior Pastor on January 27, 2001. Bishop Williams Jr. was committed to pouring into the next generation, empowering those under his leadership to walk into their God-given Purpose.

He upheld the mantle passed to him by God and his father, and faithfully Pastored the ministry for 18 years. On January 27, 2019, the mantle was officially passed down to the 3rd generation in Pastor, Alex L. Williams. Today, he serves as the Senior Pastor of the church, under a renewed name, Institutional International Ministries (IIM). Ambassador of the infectious phrase “Watch God Work”, Pastor Alex L. Williams is a Jesus fanatic who is unashamedly passionate about the Kingdom of God, radically preaching and teaching the gospel with a hearty focus to build individuals and save souls.

1951 The Institutional Church of God in Christ Inc. was founded on February 1, 1951, at 963 Gates Ave. Brooklyn, NY, by then Reverend Carl E. Williams Sr.

1954 Reverend Carl E. Williams formed the "Institutional Radio Choir." a music ministry in 1954 as a way to spread the Gospel of Jesus Christ, and the choir recorded their first album, "Well Done" in 1962.

1964The Ministry outgrew its previous location and moved to its current location, 170 Adelphi St. in the Fort Greene section of Brooklyn, on July 6, 1964 (3 - Picture of Building).

1966The church's popularity grew when it started its radio broadcast every Sunday night on WWRL AM 1600 in 1966.

...The Institutional Church founded its outreach ministry servicing thousands in food insecurities, drug rehabilitation, and prisoner re-entry.

1972 The Institutional Radio Choir recorded landed its first Gold Album, entitled "One More Day" - 1972

1984 The Institutional Church and Institutional Radio Choir featured in the "New Yorker" magazine, 1984.

1985 The Institutional Radio Choir was featured in the Hit Broadway Play, "The Gospel At Colonus." Which went on to be a finalist for the 1985 Pulitzer Prize for Drama, and the winner of the 1984 Obie Award for Best Musical.

1995 The now Bishop Carl E. Williams Sr. and his wife Elvonia Williams founded the "Oasis Daycare Center" in 1995 servicing low-income families and Children.

2001On January 27, 2001, Bishop Carl Williams Sr. decided to pass the mantle down to his son Bishop Carl E. Williams Jr., ordaining him as the new Pastor of the church.

...Under the leadership of Bishop Carl E. Williams Jr., the church formed a new outreach ministry called the "Love Kitchen" which served the homeless of the community of Brooklyn, NY feeding over 10,000 people a year.

2016 And now as the 3rd generation successor of the Institutional Church of God in Christ, ordained by his father, Bishop Carl E. Williams Jr. in November 2016, Pastor Alex L. Williams continues to carry out its legacy with passion, fervor, and innovation.

2017 Understanding the need for a relevant vision within a shifting culture, the Institutional Church of God in Christ was rebranded by Pastor Alex L. Williams to the "Institutional International Ministries" (IIM) with a focus on diversity and transformation in September 2017.

2019 On October 5, 2019, Pastor Alex L. Williams and Institutional International Ministries (IIM) launched “The NYC Unity Bridge Prayer Walk.” An initiative seeking to unify New York City through Intercession and Praye amongst various denominations, cultures, and demographics.

2020 In November 2020, IIM formed "Institutional Cares," a non-profit organization dedicated to serving the community through Social Justice, combating Food insecurity, and mentoring the
